Don't worry. I'm still here wallowing in my own misery that is programming with the win32 api. That and the fact of how allergic I am to alcohol. I can't even drink a beer before class without turning into a lobster. God has it in for me... or is just hinting that I should become a pothead like that dirty hippy in ce110.

Anyways the trick to having a tortured soul is to stop ignoring all the horrible things that happen in this world. Not only the rapes/murders/suicides/children starving kind of thing but the general sense of somberness that everyone feels from being unfulfilled when they aren't too busy distracting themselves with meaningless things in their lives. Relish in this for a while and then you can move onto God's role in it all. You can remind yourself that all that dandy stuff is happening because God wants it to (if he didn't, he would do something about it right?). From here you can then look up all the scriptural support for predestination, and realize a vast majority of all the miserable people on this planet have been damned to hell since their birth because they were not chosen by God. Finally, keep this on your mind for a good 5 years of your life all while secluding yourself from human contact and you will be well on your way to writing good poetry!

Hope this helped.
